Lukas Scherfig - The voice & soul of The Movement
Aus der Asche der bemerkenswerten Soul/Mod/Punk Aktivisten The Movement steigt Sänger und Gitarrist Lukas Scherfig gestärkt und als Solokünstler empor. Dies ist nur logisch, denn dass Feuer hatte er schließlich selbst gelegt. Der musikalische Neuanfang des dänischen Wahlberliners gestaltet sich dann aber doch als konsequente Weiterentwicklung des The Movement Sounds.
Schon das 2.Album seiner Ex-Band („Revolutionary Sympathies“) war, abgesehen von wenigen Ausnahmen, längst nicht mehr so stürmisch wie ihr Debüt und auch das Solomaterial Scherfigs geht noch weiter in die Richtung relaxter 60´s Mod/Pop Songs. Trotz eines wehmütigen Rückblicks auf die verblichene Liveinstitution von einer Band, muss man Scherfig aber zugestehen, dass er in seiner neuen, alten Rolle sehr wohl zugefallen weiß.
Solange er weiter so zuckersüße Popperlen schreibt, kann man ihm kaum lange zürnen. Und ewig hallt: We are the Mods, we are the Mods…

Lukas Sherfey starts his own record label.
Last year Lukas Sherfey decided to stop the band “The Movement” and continue his carrier as a solo artist.
Now Lukas Sherfey has started his own record label, “The Movement Records”.
“The primary focus of the label is to release music in Germany and do license with lables in other terrotories, vinyl and cd”.
The Movement Rec. is based in Berlin, Germany and Copenhagen, Denmark.
The first release will be Lukas Sherfey’s own debut album “Soul Vacation”.
Soul Vacation will be released in december 2008 in Germany and worldwide on iTunes.
